Your golden friend must be able to score enough protein to keep him going but, not too much as excessive protein is not good for this breed. Meat, bones, and fish- Go easy on these. Your Golden Retriever may accidentally swallow the bones which can cause obstruction and laceration of the digestive system.

Cat food- A dog is not a cat. Cat food is really high in protein and fats and too much of both is not good for your dog. That's why they are called cat food- they were made for cats - not dogs.

Chocolate, coffee, tea- This food contains Caffeine, Theobromine, and Theophylline. In other words, they are TOXIC and bad for your pet's heart and nervous system.

Human Vitamins with iron; Grapes and raisins- These fruits maybe a good source of anti-oxidants for human but they can damage your dog's kidney. Unless you want your dog to die of renal failure do not feed him this purple killers. Human Vitamins with iron has similar effects. So give these vitamins to humans, not to your dog.

Moldy, spoiled foods and garbage- one word: Toxin.

Onions and Garlic- Easy on the spices! They contain Sulfoxides and disulfides which causes anemia. You wouldn't want an anemic dog, would you?

Raw Eggs- They contain an enzyme called Avidin which decreases the absorption of biotin. This can lead to skin and coat problems.

Raw Fish-Feeding your Golden Retriever raw fish can result to thiamine deficiency leading to loss of appetite, seizure, and in certain cases, death.

Salt and Sugar- Too much salt in your dog food can lead to electrolytes imbalances and sugary foods can lead to obesity, dental problems, and diabetes mellitus.

Yeast Dough- This can produce gas and expand gas in the digestive system which can cause rupture of the stomach or intestines.
